Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Russian Pictures, which included the work The Grand Staircase at Peterhof Palace by Alexander Nikolaevich Benois. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,528.00 (€ 4,142.20), 18% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Nikolaevich Benois achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Promenade of Empress Elizabeth in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 441,600.00 (€ 349,809.89).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Russian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Grand Staircase at Peterhof Palace von Alexander Nikolaevich Benois zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.528,00 (€ 4.142,20) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alexander Nikolaevich Benois erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Promenade of Empress Elizabeth im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 441.600,00 (€ 349.809,89).
