Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Set Design For Le Pavillon D'Armide Depicting Tamara Karsavina, Vaslav Nijinsky And Alexandra Fedorova by Alexander Nikolaevich Benois was sold in the Russian Paintings Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in June 2011. The price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 13,828.93) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Nikolaevich Benois achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Promenade of Empress Elizabeth in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 441,600.00 (€ 349,809.89).
