Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Peter the Great by the Banks of the Neva Contemplating the Founding of St Petersburg by Alexander Nikolaevich Benois was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 12,600.00 (€ 14,075.32) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Nikolaevich Benois achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Promenade of Empress Elizabeth in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 441,600.00 (€ 349,809.89).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Peter the Great by the Banks of the Neva Contemplating the Founding of St Petersburg von Alexander Nikolaevich Benois kam im Dezember 2020 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion.
