Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Costume Designs for A Spaniard, A Spanish Lady and Herr Drosselmayer from The Nutcracker by Alexander Nikolaevich Benois was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2020. The price achieved of GBP 5,292.00 (€ 5,911.64) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Nikolaevich Benois achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Promenade of Empress Elizabeth in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 441,600.00 (€ 349,809.89).
