Sold at the upper estimate price
In June 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Russian Pictures, which included the work Bathing Cabin On Lake Lucerne by Alexander Nikolaevich Benois. The auction ended at the price of GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,202.65), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Nikolaevich Benois achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Promenade of Empress Elizabeth in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 441,600.00 (€ 349,809.89).
