Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Morpho Amathonte by Alexander James was sold in the Prints and Multiples auction at Bonhams in London in December 2021. It changed hands for a price of GBP 2,167.50 (€ 2,585.37) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,800.00 – 2,200.00. Admittedly, works by Alexander James have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Grace, 2010 in October 2013 with an auction result of GBP 13,750.00 (€ 16,252.39).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Morpho Amathonte von Alexander James wurde im Dezember 2021 in der Auktion Prints and Multiples bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 2.167,50 (€ 2.585,37) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.800,00 – 2.200,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alexander James auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Grace, 2010 im Oktober 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.750,00 (€ 16.252,39).
