Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Tretower, Breconshire by Alexander Frederick Rolfe was sold in the British and Victorian Pictures auction at Christies in London in May 2006. The price achieved of GBP 960.00 (€ 1,401.29) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Frederick Rolfe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fishing scene at Twickenham in January 2007 with an auction result of GBP 9,600.00 (€ 14,484.20).
