It achieved a price of GBP 840.00 (€ 1,218.41), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 68%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Alexander Carruthers Gould; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Cattle in a river landscape sold at auction in March 2002 with the realized price of GBP 1,057.50 (€ 1,728.73).
