Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work A Salmon Pool by Alexander Brownlie Docharty for GBP 1,434.00 (€ 2,094.49). This price was achieved in the auction THE SCOTTISH SALE, THE ASSEMBLY ROOMS, EDINBURGH at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alexander Brownlie Docharty - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Dee at Braemar, which sold at auction in October 2000 for GBP 3,525.00 (€ 6,025.23).
