Sold at the lower estimate price
The work Caja Nietzche Ii Bailarines by Alberto Gironella was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2009. The result of USD 15,000.00 (€ 10,618.72) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alberto Gironella - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work M. Degas visita a Sonia (Sonia Infante hija de Pedro Infante), which sold at auction in November 2002 for USD 35,850.00 (€ 36,095.45).
