A top price for Alberto Giacometti - as previously expected
In May 2015 Christies in New York held the auction Looking Forward to the Past, which included the work L'homme au doigt by Alberto Giacometti. The price achieved of USD 141,285,000.00 (€ 128,511,006.00) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 130,000,000.00 – 150,000,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, L'homme au doigt is the most expensive artwork by Alberto Giacometti that we have observed at auctions so far.
