Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work James Range, East Of Areyonga by Albert Namatjira was sold in the Aboriginal Art auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in July 2009. Here, the upper estimate of AUD 35,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 38,400.00 (€ 21,740.62). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Albert Namatjira - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mt Sonder, MacDonnell Ranges, which sold at auction in April this year for AUD 92,250.00 (€ 55,291.51).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit James Range, East Of Areyonga von Albert Namatjira wurde im Juli 2009 in der Auktion Aboriginal Art bei Sothebys in Melbourne versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von AUD 35.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für AUD 38.400,00 (€ 21.740,62) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Albert Namatjira mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mt Sonder, MacDonnell Ranges beobachtet, die im April diesen Jahres für AUD 92.250,00 (€ 55.291,51) versteigert wurde.
