Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Still Life With Watermelon, Jug And Knife by Albert Francis King was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 23,750.00 (€ 19,277.60). Other works by Albert Francis King have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in September 2008 by the work Still Life With Violin at USD 43,750.00 (€ 31,070.24).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Still Life With Watermelon, Jug And Knife von Albert Francis King im März 2018 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 23.750,00 (€ 19.277,60) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Albert Francis King wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im September 2008 die Arbeit Still Life With Violin mit USD 43.750,00 (€ 31.070,24).
