Sold at the lower estimate price
In June 2018 Christies in London held the auction Modern British Art Day Sale, which included the work Opus 4 (blue ground) by Alastair Morton. The result of GBP 20,000.00 (€ 22,603.41) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alastair Morton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Opus 9 Red and Blue Stripes 1937, which sold at auction in March 2018 for GBP 59,375.00 (€ 67,601.71).
