Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Abstract composition by Alastair Morton was auctioned at Christies in London in February 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,596.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alastair Morton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Opus 9 Red and Blue Stripes 1937 in March 2018 with an auction result of GBP 59,375.00 (€ 67,601.71).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Abstract composition von Alastair Morton kam im Februar 2008 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.596,89) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alastair Morton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Opus 9 Red and Blue Stripes 1937 im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 59.375,00 (€ 67.601,71).
