Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2020 Phillips in London held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included this untitled work by Alan Charlton. The price achieved of GBP 25,200.00 (€ 27,982.45) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alan Charlton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Channel Painting no.4, which sold at auction in February 2016 for GBP 43,750.00 (€ 56,060.22).
