Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ten Part Line Painting by Alan Charlton was sold in the Modern British Art Day Sale auction at Christies in London in January 2020. The price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,868.61) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alan Charlton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Channel Painting no.4, which sold at auction in February 2016 for GBP 43,750.00 (€ 56,060.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Ten Part Line Painting von Alan Charlton wurde im Januar 2020 in der Auktion Modern British Art Day Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 14.868,61) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Alan Charlton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Channel Painting no.4 beobachtet, die im Februar 2016 für GBP 43.750,00 (€ 56.060,22) versteigert wurde.
