A top price for Al Hirschfeld - as previously expected
In April 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work A Night At The '21' Club by Al Hirschfeld. The price achieved of USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,614.26) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, A Night At The '21' Club is the most expensive artwork by Al Hirschfeld that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im April 2012 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Night At The '21' Club von Al Hirschfeld zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 6.614,26) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist A Night At The '21' Club das teuerste Kunstwerk von Al Hirschfeld, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
