Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art, which included the work Untitled (Landscape) by Akbar Padamsee. It changed hands for a price of USD 187,500.00 (€ 159,249.19) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. Admittedly, works by Akbar Padamsee have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Reclining Nude) in March 2011 with an auction result of USD 1,426,500.00 (€ 1,005,781.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Landscape) von Akbar Padamsee zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 187.500,00 (€ 159.249,19) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 150.000,00 – 200.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Akbar Padamsee auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Reclining Nude) im März 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.426.500,00 (€ 1.005.781,57).
