Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2010 Phillips in New York held the auction AFRICA Theme Sale, which included the work Congo - Face IX by Aimé Mpane. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,125.00 (€ 2,526.48) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Aimé Mpane have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Congolese12 Portraits in March 2018 with an auction result of GBP 20,000.00 (€ 22,771.10).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2010 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion AFRICA Theme Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Congo - Face IX von Aimé Mpane zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.125,00 (€ 2.526,48) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Aimé Mpane auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Congolese12 Portraits im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.000,00 (€ 22.771,10).
