Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Coca-Cola Vase by Ai Weiwei was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 266,500.00 (€ 372,766.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ai Weiwei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Circle of Animals / Zodiac Heads in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 3,442,500.00 (€ 4,853,881.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Coca-Cola Vase von Ai Weiwei kam im Oktober 2015 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 266.500,00 (€ 372.766,94) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ai Weiwei erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Circle of Animals / Zodiac Heads im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.442.500,00 (€ 4.853.881,79).
