Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2019 Christies in London held the auction Middle Eastern, Modern and Contemporary Art, which included the work The Coiling of Day and Night by Ahmed Moustafa. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 50,746.86) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ahmed Moustafa achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Night Journey And Ascension in December 2010 with an auction result of USD 842,500.00 (€ 634,938.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion Middle Eastern, Modern and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Coiling of Day and Night von Ahmed Moustafa zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 43.750,00 (€ 50.746,86) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ahmed Moustafa erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Night Journey And Ascension im Dezember 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 842.500,00 (€ 634.938,58).
