In May last year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including On The Banks of the NileA Journey Through Egyptian Art, which included the work Alexandria, Past and Present by Ahmed Moustafa. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 14,025.00 (€ 16,499.08), 40% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ahmed Moustafa achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Night Journey And Ascension in December 2010 with an auction result of USD 842,500.00 (€ 634,938.58).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 40 % übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including On The Banks of the NileA Journey Through Egyptian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Alexandria, Past and Present von Ahmed Moustafa zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 14.025,00 (€ 16.499,08) und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ahmed Moustafa erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Night Journey And Ascension im Dezember 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 842.500,00 (€ 634.938,58).
