Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Still Life With Daffodils by Agnes M. Cowieson was auctioned at Sothebys in London in August 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,720.09). Other works by Agnes M. Cowieson have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May 2008 by the work Waiting For The Steamer at GBP 5,625.00 (€ 7,155.25).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Still Life With Daffodils von Agnes M. Cowieson im August 2008 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.720,09) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Agnes M. Cowieson wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Mai 2008 die Arbeit Waiting For The Steamer mit GBP 5.625,00 (€ 7.155,25).
