Despite a disappointment, a good price for Affortunato Gory
When the work An Oriental Dancer by Affortunato Gory was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2001, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 28,200.00 (€ 33,353.05). Despite this disappointing result, An Oriental Dancer is the most expensive artwork by Affortunato Gory that we have observed at auction so far.

Als die Arbeit An Oriental Dancer von Affortunato Gory im Mai 2001 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus.
