This artwork by Affandi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May last year. In the 20th Century Art Day Sale auction, the work Self Portrait with Pipe sold for HKD 2,016,000.00 (€ 239,342.47) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 1,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Affandi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Borobudur And The Sun in October 2016 with an auction result of HKD 9,800,000.00 (€ 1,153,256.70).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Affandi erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Self Portrait with Pipe für HKD 2.016.000,00 (€ 239.342,47) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 1.000.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Affandi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Borobudur And The Sun im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 9.800.000,00 (€ 1.153.256,70).
