Die Arbeit Peeling the potatoes von Adrianus Johannes Groenewegen wurde im Februar 2004 in der Auktion PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 896,25 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 28 %. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Adrianus Johannes Groenewegen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Watering Cows By A River im April 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 5.377,50.
