Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2002 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS & DRAWINGS INCLUDING FLOWER PICTURES, which included the work A shepherd and his flock on the heath by Adrianus Johannes Groenewegen. The price achieved of EUR 1,553.50 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 1,400.00 – 1,800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Adrianus Johannes Groenewegen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Watering Cows By A River, which sold at auction in April 2004 for EUR 5,377.50.

Im Juni 2002 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS & DRAWINGS INCLUDING FLOWER PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit A shepherd and his flock on the heath von Adrianus Johannes Groenewegen zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 1.553,50 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 1.400,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Adrianus Johannes Groenewegen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Watering Cows By A River beobachtet, die im April 2004 für EUR 5.377,50 versteigert wurde.
