This artwork by Adrian Daintrey achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2008. In the A GREAT BRITISH COLLECTION: The pictures collected by Sir David and Lady Scott, sold to benefit the Finnis Scott Foundation auction, the work A Country Lane sold for GBP 1,625.00 (€ 1,964.75) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Adrian Daintrey - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The facade of Annabel's from Berkeley Square (i); and The interior of the Clermont Club (ii), which sold at auction in November 2018 for GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,049.81).
