Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2016 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Masters & 19th Century Art - including Dutch Impressionism, which included the work Judah and Tamar by Adriaen van Nieulandt. The price achieved of EUR 15,000.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by Adriaen van Nieulandt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tulips, roses, Turk's cap lilies, columbines, carnations and other flowers in a ceramic vase, with tulips in a glass vase, on a wooden ledge, with a peacock butterfly, a grasshopper and a lizard in December 2011 with an auction result of GBP 67,250.00 (€ 80,541.37).
