In March 2000 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work A Mediterranean coastal landscape with fishermen and merchants on a quay by a ruined tower, at sunset by Adriaen van der Cabel. The »bidding war« ended at NLG 12,872.20 (€ 5,476.13), 61% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adriaen van der Cabel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work River Landscape With A Bastion in December 2010 with an auction result of GBP 61,250.00 (€ 71,049.82).

Im März 2000 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Mediterranean coastal landscape with fishermen and merchants on a quay by a ruined tower, at sunset von Adriaen van der Cabel zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von NLG 12.872,20 (€ 5.476,13) und damit 61% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Adriaen van der Cabel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit River Landscape With A Bastion im Dezember 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 61.250,00 (€ 71.049,82).
