Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Nature morte au gibier by Adriaen de Gryef was auctioned at Christies in Paris in June 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 3,250.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adriaen de Gryef achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Hound Guarding Dead Game Birds, A Stag And A Hare, With Huntsmen In A Landscape; And Hounds With A Dead Swan, Hare And A Boar, With Huntsmen In A Landscape in April 2008 with an auction result of GBP 31,700.00 (€ 40,413.02).
