Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of EUR 9,600.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Adriaan de Lelie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An old woman frying pancakes in a kitchen, with a maid and two children; An old man reading in an interior, with a maid ironing at a table, which sold at auction in December 2020 for GBP 23,750.00 (€ 26,530.87).
