Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work L'oasis by Adolphe-Ernest Gumery was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2002, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,175.00 (€ 1,920.82). Admittedly, works by Adolphe-Ernest Gumery have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dans le jardin in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 6,462.50 (€ 9,286.96).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit L'oasis von Adolphe-Ernest Gumery im März 2002 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.175,00 (€ 1.920,82) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Adolphe-Ernest Gumery auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dans le jardin im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.462,50 (€ 9.286,96).
