Auction result well in line with expectations
The work King David in contemplation by Abraham van Dyck was auctioned at Christies in London in April 2000. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 11,162.50 (€ 19,109.75) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Abraham van Dyck have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Piping Boy: portrait of a youth, half-length seated, playing a pipe, in a slashed doublet and a red hat in July 2000 with an auction result of GBP 75,250.00 (€ 121,678.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit King David in contemplation von Abraham van Dyck kam im April 2000 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 11.162,50 (€ 19.109,75) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Abraham van Dyck auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Piping Boy: portrait of a youth, half-length seated, playing a pipe, in a slashed doublet and a red hat im Juli 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 75.250,00 (€ 121.678,26).
