Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings, which included the work "Grace Before Dinner," An Old Couple Seated At A Table by Abraham van Dyck. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 35,000.00 (€ 30,672.16) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Abraham van Dyck - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Piping Boy: portrait of a youth, half-length seated, playing a pipe, in a slashed doublet and a red hat, which sold at auction in July 2000 for GBP 75,250.00 (€ 121,678.26).
