Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Works on Paper, which included the work View Of A Villa Beside The Cascades At Tivoli, With Figures Below by Abraham-Louis-Rodolphe Ducros. The price achieved of GBP 23,750.00 (€ 26,628.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abraham-Louis-Rodolphe Ducros achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Via Appia Near Formia, With Travellers And Peasants By The Walls Of Castellone (?), The Bay Of Gaeta And Mount Circeo Beyond; And A Port With Maltese Merchants And Sailors Making Music And Dancing, The Fort Of Gaeta Beyond in July 2001 with an auction result of GBP 168,750.00 (€ 274,797.19).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 23.750,00 (€ 26.628,97) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Abraham-Louis-Rodolphe Ducros erzielen.
