Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work A Landscape With The Ponte Molle, Rome by Abraham-Louis-Rodolphe Ducros for USD 10,625.00 (€ 9,843.43). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Drawings at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abraham-Louis-Rodolphe Ducros achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Via Appia Near Formia, With Travellers And Peasants By The Walls Of Castellone (?), The Bay Of Gaeta And Mount Circeo Beyond; And A Port With Maltese Merchants And Sailors Making Music And Dancing, The Fort Of Gaeta Beyond in July 2001 with an auction result of GBP 168,750.00 (€ 274,797.19).
