This artwork by Abraham Danielsz. Hondius achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in September 2013. In the The Collection of Professor Sir Albert Richardson, P.R.A. auction, the work Hounds attacking a heron in an Italianate landscape with classical ruins; and Hounds chasing a goose in an Italianate landscape with classical ruins sold for GBP 25,000.00 (€ 29,883.64) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Abraham Danielsz. Hondius have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sportsman Offered Refreshment Outside An Inn While His Dogs Rest After The Hunt in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 150,000.00 (€ 138,478.58).
