Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2020 Bonhams in London held the auction Old Master Paintings Part II, which included the work Rural genre scene with The Prodigal Son by Abraham Bloemaert. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 18,812.50 (€ 20,983.91). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abraham Bloemaert achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Mythological Scene, Perhaps Venus And Cupid in January 2013 with an auction result of USD 434,500.00 (€ 319,861.60).
