Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Circe by Abraham Bloemaert was sold in the Old Masters: Property from a Private Collection auction at Christies in New York in October 2019. It achieved a price of USD 93,750.00 (€ 84,043.03), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Abraham Bloemaert - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Mythological Scene, Perhaps Venus And Cupid, which sold at auction in January 2013 for USD 434,500.00 (€ 319,861.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Circe von Abraham Bloemaert wurde im Oktober 2019 in der Auktion Old Masters: Property from a Private Collection bei Christies in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 93.750,00 (€ 84.043,03) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 17%. Für andere Arbeiten von Abraham Bloemaert mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Mythological Scene, Perhaps Venus And Cupid beobachtet, die im Januar 2013 für USD 434.500,00 (€ 319.861,60) versteigert wurde.
