Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A rugged coastal landscape with two figures by Abraham Bloemaert was sold in the Old Master Drawings auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2021. The price achieved of USD 6,300.00 (€ 5,191.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abraham Bloemaert achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Mythological Scene, Perhaps Venus And Cupid in January 2013 with an auction result of USD 434,500.00 (€ 319,861.60).

Die Arbeit A rugged coastal landscape with two figures von Abraham Bloemaert wurde im Januar 2021 in der Auktion Old Master Drawings bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.300,00 (€ 5.191,59) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Abraham Bloemaert erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Mythological Scene, Perhaps Venus And Cupid im Januar 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 434.500,00 (€ 319.861,60).
