January 10, 2024

The annual photoSCHWEIZ exhibition is a key event for Swiss photographers. It is the largest in Switzerland and aims to provide a representative overview of developments in this artistic medium in the country. Over 250 national and a few international artists will be taking part in photoSCHWEIZ 24 from January 12 to 16. A team of curators will select from the submitted works, which may come from the press, advertising and amateur photography sectors as well as art photography. The prerequisite for selection is that the work was created no more than three years ago and has not yet been published. The exhibition can be viewed daily from 11 am to 8 pm.

A highlight of photoSCHWEIZ is the photoFORUM, where nationally and internationally renowned photographers show current works and give lectures on their work and working methods. In recent years, Anton Corbijn, Steve McCurry, Peter Lindbergh, and René Burri, among others, have traveled to the photoFORUM.Art.Salon

London, Tate Britain

It was one of the most moving decades in the history of the United Kingdom: the 1980s, characterized by strikes, protests and AIDS. Photographers documented this period and in some cases became political activists themselves through their images. The exhibition The 80s: Photographing Britain opens on November 21 at the Tate Britain in London.
