More than 120 artists will exhibit at Independent New York 2023, a young but already established fair at the center of the art world. The first edition took place in 2010 on a small scale and was aimed at scene insiders. Since then, the field has opened up and the number of exhibiting artists has grown, but the fair has retained its special character. It is still considered one of the spearheads of contemporary art, not least because it is based on the principle of invitation. This means that artists cannot apply in the traditional way. Many collectors therefore mark the fair in their calendars, this year from May 11 to 14.

The Independent is considered one of the most popular New York fairs in the art world because of its quality. Numerous young art stars such as Oscar Murillo, Nicolas Party, and Issy Wood have made their New York exhibition debuts at the Independent in recent years. Beginning in 2022, Independent 20th Century will complement the program by presenting and trading artworks from major movements of the 20th century.Art.Salon

Till Schermer

Is our personality just an illusion? Till Schermer's paintings open up a new perspective on the fragmented human psyche. In intense, sometimes disturbing images, the artist presents the protagonists of our mental society - perhaps the start of an adventure for one's own mind.
