From June 4, the Kunstwerk Carlshütte in Büdelsdorf, about 40 kilometers west of Kiel, will invite all who are interested to NordArt again. The 23rd edition of the large-scale contemporary art exhibition features three major overarching themes: the country focus on Poland, new highlights from China and the special project Mongolia. Under the title Above Borders / Ponad granicami, for NordArt »for the first time in the history of Polish contemporary art, successful artists who created their art after 1945 within Polish borders and in other European countries as well as in the USA have come together.«

With So Far - So Close, NordArt is once again focusing on contemporary Chinese art after ten years on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Germany. In this regard, the cultural bridge to NordArt 2022 shows a mixture of both well-known and unknown names. In the section named Interspaces, there is Mongolian contemporary art on display, in which tradition and modernity merge to create a style all of its own. The doors of the exhibition will remain open until October 9.

Since its premiere in 1999, NordArt is one of the largest annual exhibitions of contemporary art in Europe. The organizer, Kunstwerk Carlshütte, is a non-profit cultural initiative of the internationally active ACO Group and the cities of Büdelsdorf and Rendsburg. NordArt is held on the site of the old Carlshütte iron foundry. Founded in 1827 as the first industrial enterprise in the duchies of Schleswig and Holstein, it was in operation until 1997.Art.Salon

Till Schermer

Is our personality just an illusion? Till Schermer's paintings open up a new perspective on the fragmented human psyche. In intense, sometimes disturbing images, the artist presents the protagonists of our mental society - perhaps the start of an adventure for one's own mind.
