Hardly any city is better known for its two-sidedness than Marseille: the French port city is a place of longing, beautiful and characterised by cultural diversity. At the same time, the former cultural capital of Europe is shaped by a high crime rate, drug trafficking and poverty. In the middle of this city that brings all kinds of people together, an art fair that is important for European galleries is taking place for the 16th time. At ART-O-RAMA, from 25 to 28 August, more than 60 galleries will present current positions of the art world.
In addition to the awarding of numerous prizes such as the Région Sud Prize and the François Bret Prize, the fair offers many other highlights. Panel discussions on individual artworks such as the installation The Solitarity Hours of Night by Kévin Blinderman or on the motivations and objectives of curators are just as enticing as film screenings that round off the art experience.
