Guests will see the first highlight before they even arrive: The new Basel location at Klybeck 610 is an architectural masterpiece from the 1960s. The building was originally intended as a forward-looking canteen in the center of the Klybeck quarter, a progressive industrial area. Now it welcomes VOLTA Basel guests to Gärtnerstrasse 2. For the first time, the art fair will take place in an invite-only format and under the motto Discover. Connect. Collect. The selection of Basel and New York galleries reflects the influences of the annual venues. However, the organizers also place great emphasis on previously »underrepresented« countries. From June 12-18, VOLTA Basel promises a remarkable selection of newcomers that collectors from around the world will be excited about.

A total of 31 galleries from 16 countries accepted the invitation from Switzerland to make and strengthen contacts with collectors. Despite the changes, VOLTA Basel remains true to itself as a fair with a family atmosphere. The history of VOLTA Art Fair began in Basel in 2005, and since 2008 it expanded to New York. The two fairs have been considered important events in the art year for many years.Art.Salon

Dive deeper into the art world

Till Schermer

Is our personality just an illusion? Till Schermer's paintings open up a new perspective on the fragmented human psyche. In intense, sometimes disturbing images, the artist presents the protagonists of our mental society - perhaps the start of an adventure for one's own mind.
