A journey through JeeYoung Lee's memories

Feelings, traumas or memories as spaces in which she stages herself: JeeYoung Lee (b. 1983) from South Korea photographs self-built environments based on her biography. From June 23 to September 25, London's NOW Gallery will exhibit her photographs under the title Maiden Voyage - JeeYoung Lee. NOW Gallery is a public exhibition space in southeast London that invites artists and designers to curated solo exhibitions. Admission is always free.

In her studio, Lee spends months designing a space like a theater stage, staging and photographing herself in a pose, then dismantling everything to make room for the next project. The photograph is the finished work of art. Lee forgoes any digital post-processing: »This entire process is an act of discipline and training. I wouldn't be able to experience these emotions through Photoshop.«

Visitors are invited to record their own memories and feelings on origami paper and then fold it into a swan. Lee will then integrate them into a performance on July 12.Art.Salon

Till Schermer

Is our personality just an illusion? Till Schermer's paintings open up a new perspective on the fragmented human psyche. In intense, sometimes disturbing images, the artist presents the protagonists of our mental society - perhaps the start of an adventure for one's own mind.
