Artwork auctioned at five times the upper estimate price
When the work Seven-Character Couplet In Running Script by Zhuang Yunkuan was auctioned at China Guardian in Hong Kong in November 2016, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 5,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than five times as high at HKD 25,960.00 (€ 3,163.40). Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Zhuang Yunkuan; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Calligraphy Couplet In Running Script sold at auction in April 2019 with the realized price of HKD 44,375.00 (€ 5,051.17).
Kunstwerk zum Fünffachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Seven-Character Couplet In Running Script von Zhuang Yunkuan im November 2016 bei China Guardian in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 5.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 25.960,00 (€ 3.163,40) mehr als fünfmal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Zhuang Yunkuan; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Running Script im April 2019 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 44.375,00 (€ 5.051,17).
