Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Odes To The Red Cliff by Zhu Duan was sold in the FINE CLASSICAL CHINESE PAINTINGS AND CALLIGRAPHY auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 420,000.00 (€ 43,737.95) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Zhu Duan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Whiling The Summer Away in May 2005 with an auction result of HKD 3,256,000.00 (€ 339,073.29).
